Don’t worry, I do uphold the BMW tradition and have hit the 130mph limiter a number of time (can’t say where), but the only time I get sub 40mpg is short trips into town or fast motorway, the average of which cannot be published!!!!
I am curious to see what other journey combinations people are getting and is there a big difference between engines. Overall I am getting 42.3mpg.

Given this description, I conclude your 30d is more efficient that my 20d. I am already bitter about not being able to get the 30d when I ordered, and this is rubbing more salt in the wound!
