27.6 ft3 (x3) vs 34.1 ft3 (x3) officially, however most practical tests suggest that the x3 has more 'usable' space due to the two large bins protruding from both sides on the cx5. Your personal "stroller" test means nothing because everybody's use case is different. For practical day to day use the x3 outperforms the cx5 in pretty much every aspect.
