We replaced my wifes GYs about a month ago with the Potenzas. They are a really nice tire and relatively cheap. Bought from tirerack and local dealer installed and balanced them for $125.
Dry and wet handling is about the same. Since it's not my daily driver it's hard for me to give an expert analysis but all in all I'd say it is a legit replacement for the GYs. Haven't had them in the snow yet but I'm sure they'll hold their own. I drove the GYs in heavy snow a couple times and wasn't all that impressed. I felt they weren't as good as say the Continental DWS tires we recently had experience with.
