walendvay,
Have you actually mounted the E83 spare on your F25 and then driven the car any distance?
It should fit since the E83 brakes are only a tiny bit smaller than the F25 brakes and both cars can be fitted with 17 inch wheels (which is the size of the E83 spare).
I'd be more concerned about the 1.5% difference in diameter, which might be enough to trigger an ABS and Stability Control error. Those usually have a threshold of around 2% for sustained wheel speed differences, so it might just "squeak" by in an emergency.
That error code won't stop the car from moving, but will disable the ABS and Stability controls (which may not be a problem if you drive carefully).
The F25 vehicles use a 27.7 inch O.D. tire, while E83 vehicles use a 27.3 inch tire O.D.
For anyone who is interested, the BMW P/N for the E83 4BX17 spare steel wheel is:
361 167 587 78
The matching tire (size 135/90R17 - 27.3 inch O.D.) is:
361 204 145 75
Unfortunately, going to the next size temporary spare tire (145/90R17) is just as bad, since it's larger in diameter than the F25 tires and will also create a differential wheel-speed error.
