I would go with a hitch. If I'm not mistaken, you can use it with any brand hitch-carrier. I regret not having chosen the hitch option.... I always thought about getting the bmw click- on system instead. But it turns out to be quite expensiv here in Switzerland. Especially if retrofitted. Looking back it was silly that I did not get the hitch!
