2003 Audi a6 avant - large room in the boot, better interior design, adequate acceleration, smoother ride, used too much washer fluid per clean and gripped well enough for a sport wagon.
What I get with the X3 - much more powerful engine (from 220hp to 300hp), more grip in corners, 21st century electronics, cheaper interior, adequate boot size, love the panoramic sunroof, and more articulation for potholes.
I would have bought a 2012 a6 avant in a heartbeat, but they're not selling them in the US.
