In terms of apps breaking stuff on your car, I would have thought (hoped!) that they will only expose some limited functionality and limited data (in each direction) so that apps can only do a distinct list of things like unlock and lock as mentioned. These are all things that can be done by other means so they should be safe but I guess if the app randomly unlocked your car without your knowledge that wouldn't be great!
