I can't speak to your POI issue, but emails & text getting to your "office" feature are solely dependant on whether or not your smartphone supports MAP (Message Access Protocol). Given your X3 has been recently built, it's doubtful your Multimedia & Telephone software needs an update...so, it's likely your phone. If you have an iPhone, Apple phones don't have MAP yet, but believe they made an announcement recently and with their pending new iOS, it will support MAP, therefore your "office" will work.
If you have another type of smartphone, best to google it to see if it supports MAP.
