According to the X3 owners manual the rear brake and turn singles are LED lights if you have the adaptive Xenon headlights which come with the X3 35i. I have seen this statement before about the rear lights not being LED but all the BMW documentation states adaptive LED tail lights. I guess people get confused because BMW chose to diffuse the tail lights instead of making every LED show up like an individual light like most manufacturers.
