BMW doesn't offer this insurance directly, if they say they do, they are lying. All these insurance plans (except extended maint or warranty) are through 3rd parties, even though BMW is selling them to you! Just know that before buying and know that you can buy these on your own if you want too.

Also before spending $1000 for this, especially if you live in the US, check your insurance. Comprehensive insurance covers everything other than collisions and should cover this. If you ruin 1-2 wheels on a pothole or any other way, that should be covered, so if your comprehensive deductible (usually not the same as your collision) is less than $1K, why would you get this insurance? Also remember comprehensive claims do not go against your record, your rates should NOT go up with claims. Rock takes out your windshield they cover it, why would they not cover a pothole?
