Yes, i experienced the same lag with all the demo x3s petrol and disel. Also i noticed the gears down shift is not as smooth, sometimes it cant find the gears properly and i experience a stutter.
However if u get Dynamic drive with the sports/sports mode the throttle response is so much quicker
