My advise is then to pack (blankets? old boxes?) the furniture so the door cannot do damage. You should find a way to secure the furniture and the door completely. No movement allowed. Usually rope will work, but I have not looked at the latching system on the door to see what to tie it to.
The door is designed to stop after a certain amount of pressure is applied.
