I disagree about the S63TU. It revvs pretty high for a turbo V8. Anyway, the M3 engine will be (even) better in that regard.

There's an V8 (two different versions actually), a new inline 6 and a new inline 4. That's hardly one engine fitted to all cars.

As to 'M did well before', they obviously didn't well enough in the past 20+ years to build supercars or at least an R8/SLS competitor in recent years.
