From the manual it says "If the vehicle is braked to a speed of approx. 2 mph/3km/h, the parking brake remains set."
However, I feel like I've accidentally set off the parking brake somewhere between 5-10 mph before and it still engaged. I don't think it's possible to engaged it at 100 kph since I would think there's sometime of safeguard but tbh I'm not sure.
The electromechanical handbrake is one of my least favorite features with the X3 and I prefer a mechanical handbrake or footbrake since it's really easy to forget pulling the switch in an X3.
