I've been reading about the paint chipping problems on the X5M/X6M side flares and rear wheel wells and am concerned. I have just ordered an X3 with the M sport package.

I noticed on the BMW Canada website that it looks like the M sport package includes small black body extensions in front of the front and rear wheels. Can anyone confirm this? I'm wondering if this is BMW's attempt to prevent a problem similar to the X5/X6?

I have been told by another member who owns an X5M that this isn't a problem with the X3 with the M sport package but I would also like to hear from those of you that actually have this car to make sure!

I'm thinking about applying the Avery Nano Fusion paint protection film to the bumpers, grill, partial hood, mirrors, and side flares including rear wells. Does anyone know of a good installer near Toronto, Canada?

Has anyone applied actual mud flaps to their M sports?
