Sorry to bring this up again but I've been up against a brick wall with local dealer and BMW direct. I've ordered my X3 and am expecting delivery in February. I have an iPhone 3GS and want to buy the media adaptor which gives enhanced functionality from eBay. However I need to correct part number which will be compatible with the iPhone 3GS and my new X3. This was the response from BMW:

I don't understand why they need a VIN number for this

Please can anyone provide the correct part number? If anyone has the iPhone 4S part number as well that would be great.
