Jurisprudent did you happen to hit anything on accident? I too got the "chassis stabilization malfunction" earlier this month but I happened to run over some road debris and F-ed up the suspension.
BTW perhaps you should talk to another BMW dealership in order to see if they can get the parts sooner. My car got damaged way more extensively than yours and even then the parts were shipped and repaired within the week. Furthermore they make the X3 in your state, other than Alaska or Hawaii Washington is the farthest away you can be from the factory within the US.
