The 35i can get away with an almost direct exhaust because of the inherent noise reduction of the turbocharger's turbine housing.

The 28i, 30d and 35d models use a dual pipe, single path (always muffled) system.

The 20i and 20d models use a single pipe, single path (always muffled) system.
