Smoke on start up 2013 f25
I recently purchased a 2013 BMW X3 28i that was still under warranty. The car did not smoke if recently started but a large plume of smoke would come out of the exhaust for about 20 seconds if the engine was not recently run.
The service rep told me that this is a known issue with some 2013 BMW X3's and it was tho turbo oil line and was fixed under warranty.
Unfortunately, the oil line they replaced had a bad 'O' ring and oil leaked onto the catalytic converter 30 miles after the initial repair causing a fire. This too was fixed under warranty.
I would see if BMW would fix the turbo oil line even though it is outside of the warranty period.
