X4guy, I have done it on my 35i X3. It is not the same as the old "golf tee mod" as the flap is closed until it receives vacuum from the vacuum control valve in the left rear of the hatch. I spliced the vacuum lines together to bypass the control and the flap opens as soon as the car is started. It is a little loud in the X3 definitely noticeable and a little on the drony side. I'm thinking the ExhaustMeister mod might be a good idea so that you can easily control when you want it open.
