I realise this is an old thread, but I wondered whether anyone else was experiencing weak hot air going to the footwell area when in Auto mode?
I have the Auto blowers set to one below max so pretty high, but I still don't feel as though I can feel much air reaching the footwell!
The car warms up pretty quick and I end up turning the heating down in the end as I can feel a lot of warmth from the front vents.

If I select the manual downward option, then I have to turn the blower speed quite high to feel the air coming out in to the footwell. Is this normal?
Seems ridiculous that I have to come out of Auto mode? Then you also lose the auto demist feature I believe.

It could be that I'm use to how good my E90 is and that the air distribution is different in the way the air is released in to the footwell on the E90 compared to the X3? Or maybe it's the size of the footwell and that it takes more time to fill?

Any comments welcome, just so I know whether this is the norm.
Mine is a 2.0ltr diesel.

Cheers
