Dealer process under warranty/maintenance plan is to always replace discs and pads together.
Our X3 we bought at 33.5k miles just had the discs and pads replaced a few thousand miles before we got it. With the amount of brake dust thats on the wheels I am not surprised they wear so quickly. Cant wait until the new set burns out so I can put some good ceramics on it.
