And the irony here is that an improved version of the BMW 4-cylinder 2.0 litre diesel (N47) already exists. In European markets and elsewhere its called the "25d" and is available in the F15 X5. Rated at 160 kW/450 Nm (218 hp/332 lbft) compared with the 28d's 180 hp/280 lbft. Why isn't this engine being used in the X3?
