There aren't any incentives on the X3 in Canada right now but I use a service to get the wholesale cost of the car so negotiations are on an equal footing.
I'm OK with the dealer making profit off me but not ripping me off. So the mark-up is 8-10% on the Canadian cars and I'm likely willing to offer 3-4% over invoice primarily because the money over invoice is pure profit.
I'll be ordering the car and paying for:
special order
freight
pdi
taxes
etc. etc.
The dealer incurs no cost other than rent, utilities and commissions on my vehicle purchase.
Plus no one knows how much 'dealer hold back' the dealership gets for meeting sales goals.
