I believe the GA8HP45Z transmission is made by ZF, who makes lots of transmissions for lots of vehicles.

Nots sure if they are still a supplier to BMW but
Getrag also used to make a lot of their transmissions. My E39 M5 had a 6-spd manual Getrag but at that time BMW was also sourcing transmissions from ZF (automatics anyway). That was a decade ago.
