Hey everyone, new here and just purchased my first BMW - an X3 that is currently in production and as of now will complete on March 7th. I have searched the forums and don't see any recent extended warranty threads, so was hoping to get current information.

I wanted to see if anyone had any pricing information on the extended maintenance and/or extended warranty plans as far as what they list for and what is a reasonably fair price? I am not planning to purchase them at the time I pick up my vehicle as my understanding is that I can purchase from any BMW dealer.

My plan is to keep the car beyond the standard 4 year manufacturers warranty, but trying to decide if I should "roll the dice" and self-insure or if its worth the additional coverage. My car will need the platinum as I have the NAV system. Oh and if it matters I live in NC, so the car will rarely see snow/ice (probably just leave it in the garage those days) and roads are in pretty good shape because of little/no snow/icing.
