ConnectedDrive App

Has anyone had issues with ConnectedDrive App (the new one, with blue icon) and it not talking to the car via the ConnectedDrive servers.
I was unable to add my car via the app or via the web site, the car never received the code. In the end I had to get BMW to manually add the car to my ConnectedDrive account. Still the RemoteApp functions do not work, neither car location. Google "send to car" doesn't work either, but all this worked really well in my previous older X3.
RTTI, BMW Online and the other services work within the car.

BMW say
"There are a number of reasons why the vehicle didn’t receive the code. As the information is sent from our back end systems in Germany, signal plays a big part in the interruption of the message being received. We’re aware this is happening on occasions and we’re always looking at ways in which we can improve the service."
