The throttle lag on my 2012 28i was very bad. In fact, this was the #1 reason I recently traded it in. As others have mentioned, it was very frustrating to push the pedal and have nothing happen for a second or two. It seemed unsafe, also.
I did notice, however that the quality of gas made a difference. Sunoco Ultra 93 minimized the throttle lag the most.
