If I'm not mistaken, I realized it was useless when I called them up and asked if they could help me with restaurant recommendations in an area in which I was traveling in Vermont. They basically said that they can make a reservation for a restaurant if I knew the information.
It's like what's the damn point? If I have the information, I can just call them myself and leave out the middle man.
So it's $200/year to make 5 emergency phone calls if you are without your cell phone. The BMW online service is slow but modestly helpful - again not terribly helpful if you have an iPhone
