Anyone with a 2013 X3 experience any battery issues? Has BMW corrected this problem?

I read a review of a
gentleman who started a thread where the dealer tells him that for his 2011 X3 he needs to drive 30 miles a day to keep the battery functioning- this is too outrageous for words. That he needs to buy an additional product to have a normal functioning battery? Huh?
