It seems that the load index is much smaller with the Style 317 (94 vs. 99 for the Style 305), which might potentially pose a safety risk if the car is fully loaded. This might be why BMW does not recommend these tires for the X3.
What do you guys think about this?

I wouldn't want the X1 package as the tyre dimension is different, and thus rolling radius is way out, by 6.4 %.
