It depends on the year of the X5. A recent X5 wheel (perhaps from 2010 on, I'm not sure) will not be a direct fit and will require an adapter.

The X1 is likely to be a direct fit, but you will have to pay attention to the offset, so as to not rub on the struts or (less likely) fenders.
