Personally, I would ditch the mud flaps. They do nothing to protect your car. Once you put them on, you have to keep ‘em on. On my previous cars I'd get lots of spray/sand debris against the car without the front mud guards. I wasn't sure if the configuration of the X3 would have similar results but I didn't want to risk extra rocks hitting the body. I only have 550 miles and several chips in the bumper and 1 in the windshield. I wouldn't notice it as much if I didn't clean it constantly.
