Regarding width. The new X3 is1881 millimeters wide, which converts to 74.1 inches (google). That is wider by 0.4 than the 73.7 inches of the old x5 (Edmunds). More precisely, the old X5 length is 183.7 and height is 67.5.
So in conclusion, according to our numbers here, the new x3 is longer by 2.2 inches, wider by 0.4 inches and lower by 0.4 inches. We can say with confidence that it is similar in size, if not larger.
