I don't use baby car seats so can't really comment, mine is completely invisible. I wonder if you can push the latch in? or is it stuck in that position?

Do you have that little 2 plastic dots each side (or printed dots on sensatec seats) on the bottom of the rear seatbacks? If you do, then you have them, but maybe not exposed since it's never used.
