Which is precisely my point. The 20d/28d engine as used in the 320d/328d is the N47 engine. No argument. However in Europe and in other markets (including the Australian market), for the LCI X3 the N47 engine is being replaced with the new B47 engine. Refer linked article. And so my question remains. Is the diesel engine being used in the US and Canadian markets in the X3 28d the new B47 or the soon-to-superseded N47 engine? Its not just the power numbers that don't match up - its also the torque values.
