I'm sure that's correct. The strange things is that I got a simple puncture in the tread; my (UK) leasing company and local tyre fitter refused to repair the tyre. The leasing company preferred for themselves to pay for a new tyre from a BMW dealer (they were to only ones to have stock).
There's no logic to this.
