When we were cross shopping the X3 with the Mercedes ML, we were introduced to the dealership personnel and also got a tour of the service area. I got a chance to speak to a tech and a discussion about first oil change came up. The tech mentioned that Mercedes recommends waiting till the recommended oil change interval comes up as there is an additive in the oil from the factory which helps with the engine break in. Changing the oil too early does not benefit the engine. Any truth to this?
