Trying to get really world MPG is very difficult. During the week I make a number a short journeys, and that kills mpg. i.e. cold engine and short trip.
Out of interest/'fun'
I occasionally try to get the best MPG possible, by driving like an undertaker in Eco mode. I can get 45+ Mpg by being very careful.
BUT! What's the point driving an SUV ...
SPORTS Utility Vehicle, and fannying around trying to save a few quid on diesel. I spend so much on the car finance each month that the MPG does not make a significant dent on the overall cost. If I was commuting 20,000+ miles a year I would probably be driving a different car.
PS is fannying a rude word in the USA?
