As far as you want? Because all it need is to go on a flatbed. If vehicle is unable to go in neutral, it will be dragged on to the flat bed. Some tow driver have wheel skates to alleviate some dragging. Otherwise, it will be drag with some soap and car will be wiggle/shaked off the bed.
