I think the nicest difference between the 4 and 6 pot diesels is the refinement. They are very smooth. I'm not saying the 20d isn't smooth, but you can notice the difference.
The X3 35d is quick, but the 30d engine is also quick. Both are more than quick enough for a car of its class.

I had a 330d for six years and that is why I went for the 3.0d
Quick question for people who know more than me - I looked at the engine last night and on top it says in big letters Twin Power Turbo - now - like most others - I thought the 3.0d was single turbo and 3.5d was twin turbo - does anyone know why?
