The 35D over the 30D is a "nice to have" which if it's not too expensive is worth doing. I sometimes find my 30D is little unpredictable in terms of whether I get only a good rather than a great shove from it. This is down to the single turbo and narrow power band. The 35D has more instantaneous power on demand.
Also if I get another X3 I need some differences to keep it interesting.
