By using Ecopro in my 2.0d I usually get around 53mpg, driving in comfort mode I usually achieve 47mpg so the benefits are around 10%. Yes it is more sluggish but as others have said you have to drive in a different way to achieve the benefits in Ecopro mode. I only tend to use it on motorways.
