Hi, I believe this is the thread for my question.

Just signed in the forum, as on the italian forum (by the way please forgive my far-to-be-perfect english!) seems no one is really sure of the answer.

I'll be trading in a E91 3 series for an X3 F25. On my E91 I'm leaving the 16 rims and I will remain with a spare 17x8 (Style multi spoke 284) set.

The new F25 comes with 18 inches rims and I would like to use the "spare" 17x8 (ET 34) for the winter tires.

Is it feasible? I saw that tires come with a "load index" indicating the max load that each tire will support. Is it the same for rims? Will I be risking something putting E90/91 rims on a heavier X3? I wasn't able to find any indication about this and neither to find any further specification over the size and "run flat" characteristics of the BMW 284 Style.

Any advice?

Ciao from Italy ;-)
