I'm on my second X3, bought a new 2004 when they first came out put 30,000 miles on it and bought a new 2007 X3 in Oct 06. I have 20,000 miles on the 2007 and the only time ever in shop was for a reprogram on the transmission. The transmission shifts poorly when starting out and there was a service notice on it. They reprogrammed it and it was good for about a month and then regressed to its old self. Transmissions start out in second and has a delay sometimes and if you put it in sport to start in first it about gives you wiplash. Other than the transmission with about 50,000 miles on two of then they have been some of the best BMW's I have owned and I'm on number 13. The first X3 had some window issues also but they dissapeared and a little wind noise but nothing else.
