11-28-7-628-661 ribbed v belt $52.10
11-28-8-604-266 tensioner $138.00
labor $234 for 1.8 hours
And then the kicker was that after leaving and driving no more than a 1/2 mile away
I had a adaptive headlight malfunction.
63-11-7-356-250 control unit xenon $517
labor $ 416 for 3.20 hours
So its basically a new car now. I think I will be good for a while until the brakes are due. I think I may go ahead and just order the parts today and then post up the front DIY.

Please Ford, oh please bring out the new Bronco or import the new Ranger...
It's one thing to be reliable and expensive to fix; quite another to be totally unreliable and expensive to fix. Both my Jeeps and Fords went close too or over 100K miles with no major problems before they were sold. My wife's 535i with less than 50K, fuel pump and water pump replaced. Like you found out, with the water pump, total shut down of the car.

My wife's Acura RDX almost has 90,000 on it and it's had spark plugs ($100) and brakes ($380) and tires ($600) replaced this year. So almost 8 years of nothing but driving. And the only thing I get for $1000 from a BMW is a headlight module, lol.
I thought about trading in both BMWs for just one new one and after the $30-$40,000 price gap I would have , I slapped myself straight and called back to cancel my appointment for the 2015 m3 test drive and trade in.
For that money ($40,000) I could keep all three of my vehicles and buy another fully loaded Acura . Oh well.
