Although, you may be unaware that BMW actually has two higher output four cylinder diesel options at their disposal - a ~204hp "23d" (currently in X1 and E8x 1 series) and an about-to-be-announced ~215hp "25d", coming to the F2x 1 series. In theory, one of these might provide acceptable motivation for an X3 in the US. However, as I said above, the X3 is reported to be getting an I6, so its probably a moot point. Nevertheless, one of these two four cylinder options is rumored for the US X1 (and Mini Countryman); hopefully it ends up being the latter.
