If u just want the configurable throttle & steering settings on a 35i, there's no need to get VDC. All u need is DDC (Driver Dynamic Control) which comes with Sport Automatic Gearbox.
Unfortunately, if u want DDC with other engine versions then u must get VDC &/or Sport Steering.
