How abt streaming Internet radio apps via Bluetooth?
For BT streaming, all cables aren't really relevant (other than to charge the device). In fact if you plug in the device using a USB you will remove the Bluetooth streaming link. All you should need to do is....

1. Unpair the device so the car knows nothing about it and vice versa
2. Go to iDrive - Bluetooth settings screen where you can look at all paired devices (and devices that were paired)
3. Leave iDrive on this screen. - IMPORTANT!- Mine doesn't work unless i do this
4. Go to Bluetooth pairing on your device and search for the BMW
5. Pair it and enter a PIN
6. When it says paired successfully, start the app or iPod or whatever on the device
7. Go to Music - External Devices and it should now appear there as an option.
7. Select it and iDrive should switch to output the streamed audio from the device.
