I've used Spotify with the USB cable in the center console, with the iPhone 5. It sort of works but album art tends to freeze.
I changed to MOG and it is so much better interfacing with the I-drive in the car.
I think you can sign up for a free trial before you decide. For MOG you have to be in, or use a USA ip-address. But only for the sign-up. Once you have an account you don't need a proxy anymore if you live outside USA.
